Classes

We offer a variety of classes and lessons for beginners, advanced beginners, and intermediates.  We also provide private personalized instruction for $25.00/hr.

In order to ensure a finished product you are proud of and satisfied with, we ask that you purchase materials at Yarn Frenzy with staff guidance.

Introduction to Knitting

For absolute beginners-no knitting experience required! You will learn the knit stitch, how to cast on, and how to cast off as you create your very first project: a scarf.

Experience: Absolute beginner
Materials: Size 7 or 8 needles, Plymouth Encore or Berroco Comfort yarn-pattern furnished
Time: Two 2-hr class periods
Cost: $25 per person. Bring a friend with you to learn to knit, and each person will pay only $20! What a bargain!!!!!!!

Knitting-Step 2

The follow-up session to your scarf will teach you the purl stitch as you knit a hat. The pattern will be a simple repeat that will allow you to choose one of our many self-striping yarns to make an unbelievably beautiful gift for yourself or someone you know.

Experience: Beginner
Materials: Yarn and appropriate sized needles-pattern furnished
Time: Two 2-hr. class periods.
Cost: $25 per person

Beginning Knitting

This class is for those who may have once knitted, and need a review. You will learn to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, increase and decrease, and make invisible seams. You will learn about gauge and how to match yarns with a pattern. The project for this class will be a pair of fingerless gloves.

Experience: Beginner
Materials: Needles, worsted weight yarn
Time: 3 2-hr. sessions
Cost: $30 (plus materials)

Pick Your Project

Come in and browse our beautiful yarns and pick a project you like. We will assist you with yarn/pattern selection, gauge-swatching and the construction (and finishing) of your project. Hopefully, you will also enjoy meeting other people like yourself who enjoy knitting.

Experience: Advanced beginner
Materials: Yarn/pattern of your choice with appropriate needles
Time: 3 2-hr class periods
Cost: $30 (plus materials)

Baby Sweater

Do you know someone who is expecting a “bundle of joy”? Would you like to create a one-of-a-kind gift for that special baby? Here is your chance to increase your knitting skills by knitting a top-down baby sweater. The only seaming will be for the sleeves.

Experience: Advanced beginner
Materials: Appropriate worsted weight yarn-pattern furnished
Time: 3 2-hr class periods
Cost: $30 (plus materials)

Entrelac

Use self striping yarn to create a color block scarf.

Experience: Intermediate
Materials: Self striping yarn and appropriate needles.
Time: 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm on Tuesday
Cost: $35 for three classes

Quick Christmas Gifts
